Robert Davis was asking about Turtle-doves: Laughing Turtle-doves normally occur more or less throughout the south west of WA, inland to Shark Bay, Kalgoorlie and somewhere around Esperance. In wetter years they may extend beyond this; Frank O'Connor's report from Mt Magnet is presumably an example of such an occurrence. They escaped / were released from Perth Zoo around the turn of the century. Further detail on the introduction can be found in Serventy And Whittell (Birds of WA) and John Long's book on Introduced Birds of the World. Cheers, Allan - - - Dr Allan H.
