This isn't strictly birding, but some folks on this list are likely to be GPS users. I'm thinking of buying a hand-held GPS unit (low end Garmin or Magellan, most likely) for fixing locations of surveys, odd birds, etc. in the bush, and for navigation & simple mapping in the bush. Hopefully it would be capable of downloading/uploading from a PC as well. Do any Ozbirders have experience with any particular GPS units & have recommendations, warnings, other advice to offer?
