Victorian Premier, Jeff Kennett, says he supports B-H-P's plan to erect
an offshore gas rig field within sight of the Twelve Apostles, one of
the state's top tourist attractions.
B-H-P is seeking Federal and State Government approval to exploit the
Minerva field, off the south-west Victorian coast, near Port Campbell.
The rig would be visible from the Twelve Apostles, 14 kilometres away.
Mr Kennett, who's in Boston, says the project should be encouraged and
supported.
He says it creates jobs and wealth, and is worth the price.
