John Blyth (Dept CALM, WA), Ron Johnstone (WA Museum) and I are currently
reviewing the national status of the Princess Parrot, partly as a component
of a review of the status of various birds in WA, and partly in order to
complete an article for the next issue of Eclectus, the newsletter of the
Birds Australia Parrot Association.
We are particularly interested in hearing about observations of Princess
Parrots in WA and elsewhere that are additional to those listed in Mike
Carter's article in Wingspan 12: 32-35. Information on food, habitat,
behaviour, etc, would also be appreciated. Does anyone know of any reports
of Princess Parrots coming in to water? Has anyone seen them in recently
burnt areas?
If you know of anyone else who has previously unpublished information,
please let us know contact details for them.
Any information used by us will be acknowledged in the normal way.
Please send information to Allan Burbidge at
Thanks,
Allan
