Dear all at Birding-aus,

I have just joined your listing and am fascinated by your interest in our
wonderful birdlife in Australia -
but would you like to experience the bird and wildlife of Antarctica?

We have managed to secure 18 cabins on the MARCO POLO - a 4-star ship that
sails down to the Antarctic only
every two years. Our cabins are on the Peninsula Cruise departing Australia 8
January, 1998.

Now this may seem a long way off! But because of the unique nature of this
trip, the ship usually sells out
some 12 months prior to sailing. We have these cabins secured until 28
February 1998 and would like to know
whether you birding-aus people would like to join our group. Ross and I will
be escorting the group from
Sydney, spending a few days in Buenos Aires before flying down to Ushuia to
join MARCO POLO FOR 8 nights.
This trip is for those who are seeking soft adventure - i.e. it will be
comfortable, luxurious, but at the
same time offer the opportunity to go ashore some 4-5 times by Zodiac, onto the
ice at varous ports of call
down the Peninsula. There is a team of expert lecturers on board, experts in
wildlife and bird life of the
Antarctic.

Ross (my husband) and I have been on board the MARCO POLO when it was in Sydney
this year. It is the old
Alexander Pushkin, which has been purchased by an Englishman who then spent
some millions on up-grading it to
a 4-5 star vessell. This is not just a small Russian ice-breaker, but a large
cruise ship (normally carrying
800 passengers, but to the Antarctic only carrying 400 because of
environmental restrictions on tourism to
the Antarctic).
There are only two ships of this standard visiting the Antarctic, and this is
the only one which is English
Speaking.

The total package including airfares from Australia, some time in Buenos Aires,
sightseeing and transfers will
cost you in the vicinity of $7900 - call us on Sydney 02)9488 8388, Fax 02)9488
9717 or email
if you are interested.

CRUISEABOUT is a new division of the old established TURRAMURRA TRAVEL. This
division specialises in
"anything that floats" anywhere in the world. If you want to see us, and get
to know our credentials, please
look at our home page on http://www.broflo.com.au/agents/turramurra

We only have these cabins until February - then they are on the open market to
America and will be gone,

Kind regards,
Denise Blackmore
