Oriental Pratincoles arrived in Darwin on Friday 15/11; groups of up to 100 or more spent much of the weekend hawking for insects over my house in the suburbs. Yellow Wagtails slowly increasing - up to 5 at the Sewage Ponds now. Mostly dull winter plumage with one or more juvenile birds. At least 2 Garganey still at Knuckey's Lagoon but difficult to see on the deck. Unfortunately the lagoon is too full to provide muddy edges for waders. Still no records of Swinhoe's Snipe yet, but perhaps this is because there isn't really suitable habitat at the moment. They may be around, just not locally. Also no stunning rarities. ..............
