Regarding John Leonard's request for information on attracting grasswrens by squeaking and Laurie Conole's reply, I can confirm Laurie's observation on the merits of sitting quietly and waiting. On Old Tickilara station, north of Tibooburra we had a party of Grey Grasswrens literally at our feet as we sat hardly daring to breathe in the shade of a lignum clump. Earlier, with squeaking, we had managed only fleeting glimpses. |
