On three occasions I have seen Masked Lapwing captured by the raptor they were mobbing, once a Swamp Harrier and twice a Brown Falcon. The latter incidents occurred within two weeks in the same place and I can't help but suspect that the Browny deliberately provoked mobbing as a method of hunting. They (like us) must soon learn that approaching certain places will give a sure-fire response. On all occasions the raptor dodged a few close passes in the normal fashion and then just rolled and grabbed the mobee. Probably the harrier had its eyes closed and caught the mobee by accident.
