Hi everyone, I've followed the round of emails on Great Winged Petrels off Long Reef, with the conclusion apparently being in the end that they were in fact Providence Petrels. Myself and Jane Miller are newsletter editors for Cumberland Birds Observers Club and in this capacity I've also been taking care of our "interesting bird observations" book for the last few months. Mike Ronan has reported see Great Winged Petrels off Long Reef on 16 June (compared to the other sightings being talked about being on 17 June). I phoned Mike and told him about the above emails. He firmly believes he saw Great Winged Petrels - he had the opportunity to see them quite close. Regards, Irene ========================================== |
