the pc is actually sending data since i am sending and recieveing data from a 
stepper motor controller so am sure both cable and pc are sending data

and i looked at the schematic , the pins are correct

i forgot to mention i am running a debian on a cf card that i ordered with the 
board

is there anything else to do ? 

any suggestions ?

DID anyone ever encounter this problem anywhere ? being able to send and not 
receive on a 4wire 485 ?

do you think i should call embedded systems ?
