The reason is when the SD card's file/dir has errors, caused by power off when writing.  The SD card will become read-only.  Our equipment is sealed used the function as a submarine.  It is hard to take the SD card off.  Only communication is Ethernet.

I have download dosfstools source code, and compiled.  It looks the format one is mkdosfs, can only format 2.1G, something backward.  It was mainly used for format floppies.  But I can use dosfsck to fix the SD card.

Why do you need to format it on the TS-7400? But anyway, use
sudo apt-get install dosfstools

Hi, I need to format SD card on TS-7400's TS-LINUX 2.4 system. I googled and found "dosfstools" can do that. But I am not sure whether we can compile for TS-LINUX Technically? Or any other better way to do?
