I do generally prefer e-mail over forums, but:
1. For subjects which frequently include the posting of programing source
code, forums are often better at making that available in a 'format-intact'
format, suitable for reading and copy & paste.
2. Forums are better for providing tutorials and other sorts of information
that doesn't decay with age.
3. Paradoxically, forums tend to provide better e-mail feeds, because posts
generally don't include long redundant sections of thread history. You have to
deliberately attach quotes from previous articles.
Almost any e-mail list is better than Yahoo's.
TS seems to be populating the new forum with useful information, and if that
vehicle helps them give me the information I want/need, I'm all in.
