I use it, and have a wrapper script called "sendmail" (it is a one liner :-), which has local mail server details etc and a script called "mail" which sort of emulates bits of the send functionality of the standard berkeley mail utility. It allows me to script things like do_job_generates_output | mail -s "subject line" which I tend to use all over the place.
