The Ti OMAP's cycle rate is 1GHz so yes it would be able to input the data. This processor is a High end processor made for handling video data rates, and is not a typical low end DSP which usually have data rates below 100Mhz. For that matter one could also design an interface using an Intel PC processor or even use a PC with some data capture card. My solutions were considering only using the TS-7500. The question about using a DSP to input the data would be how do you get it back to the 7500. Most of these solutions are more expensive and/or more exotic than simply dumping the data into store and forward hardware and reading it with the TS-7500. It is my belief that the TS7500 at $84 is a nice solution when some custom hardware is added.
In this case most of that hardware could be done by using the on-board FPGA for a really low total manufacturing cost. Adding exotic and/ or expensive hardware is a possibility, and I have said so. For example the TI OPAMP DSP comes with a camera interface which accepts parallel data at at least 75Mhz as I recall. On Jul 30, 2011, at 12:06 PM, walter marvin wrote:
