right. but the xuarts have internal buffering. Too bad they don't support really high speed serial. It could support interrupt driven hardware to allow dma to the processor's memory

Doesn't the CPU on the 7500 interface to the FPGA via SPI?
There's no way it'll be able to support these data rates!
