Help. I am having a devil of a time getting the WiFi up on the TS-WiFiBox-2.
I must be missing some key element in the "WIFI-G-USB-2 Manual". In following
this manual, I first confirmed the WiFi driver has not been installed (# cat
/proc/net/wireless).
Then I downloaded and expanded wifi-g-usb-2_rt2501usb-binaries.tar.gz and
copied ...\rt2501usb\binaries\linux26\rt73_ts7500.ko from my PC to
/lib/modules/2.6.24.4/kernel/net/wireless/, for lack of a better location, on
the board. The instructions just say "download to the board".
After running:
ts7500:/# insmod /lib/modules/2.6.24.4/kernel/net/wireless/rt73_ts7500.ko
..and "rausb0" showed up (# cat /proc/net/wireless).
Next I attempted to set up a "WPA Personal ? TKIP" connection:
ts7500:/# ifconfig rausb0 up
ts7500:/# ifconfig
..and the board hung.
On restarting the board and booting Debian, there was no trace of the WiFi
driver (# cat /proc/net/wireless).
Help. What am I missing?
Thanks,
RF
