You're still running off flash and in the TS-Linux environment from the
sounds of it.  If you run something like ls --help does it tell you
something about busybox multicall binary?

To boot to the CF card you either need to boot off it by changing the
kernel command line in redboot or pivot_root to a mounted CF card.
Either way, you might want to update a little, Woody is _really_ old esp
when Etch is available and 2.6.30+ kernels.  There's lots of talk about
running 2.6 and etch in the last few months on the list here.  With a
few minor exceptions/differences most information on the TS-7250, 7260,
7300, 7400 will all be applicable.
