Yikes! Compiling the kernel module to support smbfs is beyond my depth. My
attempt to set up a convenient productive development environment has been
thwarted for now.
Yes, http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/165 was very helpful ..but
it fell apart when smbf did not install: No warning, no error ..and no smbfs.
