Hi,

I followed the steps given in the TS-SER4 manual but still it didnt work.(I didnt see any output on the serial port , i even did a loop back connection to check if there was a problem in hardware but doesn't seem so.)
There are three things that are bothering me in this :
1. The baud rate shown in dmesg log is zero even when i use setserial to set it.
2. I dont have mdev utility to do  mdev -s will this cause any problem?
3. I am not so sure how to check if pc104 bus is turned on or no.

I am using com3 as start and also the jumper setting for them are as follows:
com 1 and com 2 jumper set; also irq 2 and irq4 jumper set.

Here are the steps i followed :

modprobe ts7800_isa16550 irq=6 io=0x3e8
/ # rmmod ts7800_isa16550
/ # modprobe ts7800_isa16550 irq=6 io=0x2e8
/ # rmmod ts7800_isa16550
/ # modprobe ts7800_isa16550 irq=6 io=0x3a8
/ # rmmod ts7800_isa16550
/ # modprobe ts7800_isa16550 irq=6 io=0x2a8
Here is a log of dmesg

i didnt get any output.

Plz help..

Thanks

If you are using the kernel from our website, you should have a ts7800_isa16550.ko module or ts72xx_isa16550.ko module. You will want to use those to get the ports to show up in the system, you WILL need to take a look at the modinfo for the module to find the correct parameters you need, IO base, port IO address, IRQ, etc. Also you will need to follow the same methodology with the TS-7800 of inserting and removing the module multiple times in order to have all 4 ports show up in the system: http://www.embeddedarm.com/about/resource.php?item=441#chapter10
