Most of our kernels come from the CPU manufacturers and we try to port them as
far forward as we can at the time if possible.

You are more then welcome to submit our kernel sources and drivers to the linux
community. However since we are focused on long term support of a stable
software release (in 26 years we have never discontinued a product) it is not
worth it to us to make submissions to the mainline linux kernel.

We are making more of our drivers in userspace (sdctl/nandctl/xuartctl/etc. on
the TS-75XX) to allow a kernel independent piece of hardware that is much
easier to update the software. Also note that many of our peripherals do not
have drivers available and are easier to work with from userspace with direct
memory manipulation.

If you want the latest and greatest running you are more then welcome to do it
yourself or hire us to do it for you. We have all the sources available on our
FTP site. As I said previously, any software released as a part of the kernel
is under GPL for the rest of the world, and BSD/GPL for our customers, their
choice of which license.
