Checkout section 5.2, Updating the EXT2 Image, from the 
linuxforarm-manual.pdf for instructions on how to set up the USB drive 
for boot. The instructions say to use tar -xfvj, but the j is for bzip. 
Use the appropriate tar argument for a gzipped file.
