My system is missing both /sbin/init and /dev/initctl. Here is how I got there:
I downloaded 2G-mSD-7800.dd.bz2 from:
ftp.embeddedarm.com://ts-arm-sbc/ts-7800-linux/binaries/ts-images
I bunzipped the image on my desktop linux system and copied it to a microSD
card using:
dd if=2G-mSD-7800.dd of=/dev/sdb
I enabled jumper 1 the TS-7800 board, installed the mSD card, booted, and then
logged in via telnet. The system reports itself as:
Linux ts7800 2.6.21-ts #1 PREEMPT Fri Oct 10 10:20:42 MST 2008 armv5tejl unknown
The system looks different than when it did when booting from the internal
flash, so I'm pretty sure it is using the new mSD card. When I tried to
shutdown, it complained with:
/ # shutdown -h now
shutdown: /dev/initctl: No such file or directory
shutdown: cannot execute /sbin/init
shutdown: /dev/initctl: No such file or directory
Both files are missing. What did I fail to do when setting up the new card?
What do I need to do to get it right?
Thanks!
