Hello.

First at all, look for LCD driver datasheet and understand how it works. (How the signals change to send an command and a data) and that is why ,
when you read the source code you can see

 lcd_cmd(0x38);
  lcd_cmd(0x38);
  lcd_cmd(0x38);
  lcd_cmd(0x6);
  lcd_cmd_cls();

that are the commands that i am talking about.

Second, remember that a matrix key use 5 inputs and 5 outputs ans you have to rotate a bit of 1
A) 00001
B) 00010
C) 00100
D) 01000
E) 10000

and determinate where do you read the 1. and thats how you can figure out what key is the you have pressed.

hello I'm like you in a college project, I'm using a ts 7200, and honestly all I've done has been reading and testing codes, I'm programming in C, I'm using a real time clock and the implementation of the library time.h I've done everything that is related to time, I'm using LCD and keypad, with examples that are in the www.embeddedarm.com/ page could modify, but still do not understand how work, but I can input data x the keyboard and display on the LCD, I am now handling the initialization of the LCD from scratch, LCD driving ports and to initialize and still lack a lot of things I do, if you occupy any of the q I said gladly try to help you
