Tom,
We desperately want to get a FAQ/Knowledgebase implemented, and we've been
promised for the last two years that a brand new ERP system will solve all of
our problems and fetch us our coffee as well. From what I understand, we're
getting closer and closer to getting it complete. In the meantime, we've been
discouraged in writing this sort of documentation since it will all be
automated when this ERP system is introduced and our efforts will be obsoleted
very quickly.
I hope this helps shine some light on the situation. :)

PS. I've played with the idea of publicizing my continually growing "tomboy"
notes on support issues, but then I realized I would have to make
understandable notes and that's hard to do. :)
