Actually I (PJE) set up the group, as a user self-help group. I asked a couple
of people at TS to help moderate the group early on, mainly to try and get them
involved answering technical questions. I don't think they've ever moderated a
post, and due to them being very busy their involvement has been minimal with
the group. TS were kind enough to place a link to the group on their website
which has contributed to the large number of members to this group (2961 at the
moment).

I have also been very busy over the last 12 months with a number of projects
including a 7390 based system which has kept me from being too involved with
the group beyond moderating new posts and doing my best to keep spam from
making it onto the group.

Fortunately a number of members including Jim Jackson and Jason could be relied
on to provide help, which is deeply appreciated.

With regard to moving to a different message board system I feel that if I knew
how big the board would get I would have tried a different approach, but
getting 2000+ people to move to a different system is going to be nearly
impossible. It is the large number of people which provides the depth of
answers available on this group. Also now search seems to be working getting
the old posts moved across would be a mammoth task.

Yahoo Groups is not perfect, the lack of search for an extended period for
example, but we've never lost any messages (as far as I know which weren't
caused my me trying to moderate the group from my phone) and they are providing
the service for free...

Regards,

PJE
