Thanks for that update.
just for the record, I have got that firmware working with 2.6.32.11 (matt
patched) using the standard kernel options.
I installed wpa_supplicant and wireless-tools. I pulled the firmware blob off
the desktop machine, but can't recall the source URL.
bash-4.1#ls -ail /lib/firmware/*bin
73712 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2048 Feb 22 2009 /lib/firmware/rt73.bin
The firmware presumably does not change that often.
It authenticates with the AP.
Wireless-tools maybe a hammer to crack a wallnut in this context but at least
it flies.
