Hi,
What is needed to automate this process? I was expecting the kernel to load the
firmware automatically but it does not seem to be doing so. I have to modprobe
it , then I get wlan0
modprobe rt73usb
phy0 -> rt2x00_set_chip: Info - Chipset detected - rt: 1300, rf: 0002, rev: 000.
Registered led device: rt73usb-phy0::radio
Registered led device: rt73usb-phy0::assoc
Registered led device: rt73usb-phy0::quality
usbcore: registered new interface driver rt73usb
Then when I bring it up it loads the firmware.
ifconfig wlan0 up
phy0 -> rt2x00lib_request_firmware: Info - Loading firmware file 'rt73.bin'.
rt73usb 1-3:1.0: firmware: requesting rt73.bin
phy0 -> rt2x00lib_request_firmware: Info - Firmware detected - version: 1.7.
Also , should I just start wpa_supplicant in the init scripts or is it better
to use mdev since it won't be needed most of the time?
Does wouldn't seem to be particularly bleeding edge stuff, but I haven't found
anything digging around. I'm probably making some wrong assumptions.
Any pointers ? TIA.
