Hello everyone. I have been trying (but failing) for the past week to boot a
2.6 kernel off the Compact Flash card on my TS-7200 with 32MB of RAM. The only
thing I have succeeded at is using the CF as a root directory with the standard
2.4 kernel by:
-Downloading the debian-sarge-256MB-05-01-2006.tar file from the website and
installing on the CF
-Transfered the /lib/modules/2.4.26-ts11 directory from the onboard flash to
the CF
-Changing my RedBoot config to:
fis load vmlinux
exec -c "console=ttyAM0,115200 root=/dev/hda1"
This was great until I realized that I need the 2.6 kernel. I have searched
this forum extensively and it seems that the tskernel-2.6.21-ts-src.tar.gz file
on the website does not have IDE support, which inhibits reading from the CF.
I thought I found a solution by finding a post that lead to this guys website:
http://jandmworks.com/ts7200.html
But...when I execute make using that linux-2.6.23-rc1 tar file and his config I
get the following error:
CC arch/arm/kernel/asm-offsets.s
arch/arm/kernel/asm-offsets.c:1 sorry, unimplemented: -mfloat-abi=hard and VFP
Can anyone lead me to a working 2.6 kernel or be of any help? It doesn't
matter if I need to boot directly from the CF using Redboot, or use the
bootloader.o module from the onboard flash to execute a zImage file...I just
need to get some form of a 2.6 kernel on a CF card.
Thanks,
Dan
