yes, i try to do the minimum stuff. Because i think that embbeddedArm should
give an operating OS, so i do:
bunzip2 /path/to/sdimage512mblennyeabi.dd.bz2
mke2fs -t ext2 /dev/mmcblk0 //to format the sd card
e2fsck -f -p /dev/mmcblck0 //only to check
dd if=/path/to/512mblennyimage.dd //copy the image into the SD card
so when return, i have the same image that embeddedarm give us in the SD card.
i have another SD card so i put the ts-bootromupdate in the sd and insert it in
the TS-7400,
When i power on the ts it automatically mount the sd. Run the tsbootrom-update
with the command -s to boot within the SD -m to assign a mac address to the
board, you can see the options if you do
tsbootrom-update --help
when it finish, you will have the bootloader pointing to the first partition of
your sd and not to the ts flashboot. you can go back easily to the ts flash
boot because the images that embbededarm give you (lenny image for sure) boot
from the SD.
well, the problem that i have is when boot the sd, it appear a pretty debian
5.0 and mount the sd card in /mnt/root..
doing a symbolic link and change linuxrc to linuxrc-sdboot, then save. should
start the OS placed in the fourth partition.
Restart the ts, reboot or poweroff and cut the 5V feed, then i found that the
ping command keep answer in the 192.168.0.50 IP address, so make a telnet and i
found myself again in the ts-sdboot.
i try to check the partitions table from the ts but it give some problems, it
say that it is corrupt, so i umount it and try to run again the e2fsck command
but it does not exist jeje..
Santiago said about the kernel, and well, i will keep using the debian sarge
but i am not happy. i need the ts and i can not loose more time whit it.
Thanks everybody who help.. I keep reading the post and i have learn a lot
about the ts and linux boot system, really interesting..
i leave you some stuff where i was looking..
