well that suggests that your kernel build was less "sucessful" than you seem to 
believe. I presume you mean the build completed. It seems that the binary code 
is not valid.

Why are you trying to run a 7250 with a image for 7400 !?

Looks like you're getting ahead of yourself. Start by trying to rebuild the 
standard 2.4 kernel and get it to boot. Work up from there.

TS provide crosstools binary to do this. 

Once you are confident you know where you're going try building a 2.6 kernel 
and getting it to boot at least (worry about the root fs later).

Can't advise on OE, I find ct-ng useful for cross-compiling for 72xx boards.
