Okay, well it almost seems that this thing isn't TS-Linux compatible.
I can configure it from the console and bring it up.  I've even seen the ESSID 
device name show up on my Macbook but I must be missing something because I 
can't ping it.  Nor can I ping out.  I can scan and see other 802.11 networks. 

Perhaps there's stuff in the Debian bootup process that takes place that I need 
for TS-Linux.

Why iwconfig complains when I want to change the channel is beyond me.  Same 
thing happens under Debian though.

Ad-hoc does work under Debian.  Of course I should really set it up for DHCP 
but that's another can of worms.
