Hi Fred,

I think the 7390 would be suitable for your application. I bypassed
the X Window system and wrote directly to the frame buffer, and the
performance of the TS-TPC-7390 was more than good enough to produce a
responsive GUI.

In my application I boot into the fastboot Linux environment from the
on-board Flash and mount the SD card for data storage. This seems to
work well, with the application running from read only memory as there
is less chance of the application becoming corrupted.

If I were starting again with my application I might look at one of
the lower performing graphical toolkits such as microwindows, which
don't place as much demand on the core CPU, rather than writing
everything from scratch.

Regards,

PJE

with debian linux installed as the OS.  I assume one would then
install x windows as the windowing enviroment.

GUI IDE can be used to create a specific GUI to interface with a data
recording system that will communicate with the 7390 via rs232 to
control gauge, bar, gaphiong, and numeric type widgets?
