Here is something that appears to pertain to the problem...
I can insert the module fine when both lgn0 and lgn1 are uncommented
in /etc/inittab. however when I comment out the first lgn0, I get the
problem.
I fail to see why this would be an issue. Am I missing something?
#lgn0:12345:respawn:/sbin/getty -L 115200 ttyAM0
lgn1:12345:respawn:/sbin/getty -L 115200 ttyAM1
