Thanks to everyone, not just Fred, who has made really helpful suggestions.
Because I am using the TS7250 enclosure, I don't want to make extra circuitry
at the
TS7250 end. So I'm going to use a serial port, and a MAX232 at the display end
to shift
RS232 levels back to TTL.
