OK, I think I have this puppy running now, so now I can go back to
debugging the main program I was concerned with :-)
In the sarge-1.11 distro I mentioned below, /etc contains the files:
fstab
fstab.cf
...and others
The fstab.cf file contains the right filesystem entry for a CF card,
so on the host PC (running Linux) modify the CF card files as follows:
mv fstab fstab_bak
cp fstab.cf fstab
My host PC is running Ubuntu.H.Heron, so I prefaced each of these with
"sudo", on other systems you should run them as root. After changing
the files on the CF card, you should probably unmount it and run fsck
on it, before putting the card back into the TS-7200. However in my
case, I did not do this and the TS-7200 ran fsck on the card (twice)
before giving me the username prompt.
Hopefully this account can help others who run into similar problems.
