The process is fairly simple:
power on the board and stop the system with a ctrl-C before redboot starts
the kernel.
load the new kernel from a tftp server with:
load -r -b 0x00218000 -h <tftp_server_IP> <kernel_file_name>
fis delete vmlinux
fis create vmlinux
exec -c "console=ttyAM0,115200 root=/dev/mtdblock1"
I would suggest you don't perform the two fis commands delete/create until
you have verified the new kernel on your board.
As a side, I was playing with different kernels on my TS-7250 and bricked
my board. I then became very familiar with serialblaster and the correct
versions of redboot, boot loader, and the kernel that I needed.
