Hi Andy, Peter,

Thanks for your help.

Peter, thanks for your insight, when I think about it now you are probably correct about open_eth being for the FPGA side, looking through it does appear to be trying to activate eth1 - probably why it's refusing to work!

Andy, apologies my post wasn't clearer, I am using the 7400 build, I was merely copying over the modules to see if it would work - a last ditch attempt!

Thanks again for the help,

Matt

Hi Matt,

Although I suppose you are using Debian...

There's a different kernel build for the TS-7400, see:

ftp://ftp.embeddedarm.com/ts-arm-sbc/ts-7400-linux/distributions/

filename: tslinux-09-18-2006-ts7400os.tar.bz2

I have access to both a TS-7300 and TS-7400 and although I haven't
tried to do what you have I would suspect it won't work without
changes in many areas. Just copying a working TS-7300 system has the
potential to fail on a TS-7400 for a multitude of reasons.

Also as Peter pointed out, you'd be making and having the board
execute code that tries to talk to some hardware that's not there. You
could run into similar issues in that the TS-7300 filesystem is setup
to download code to the Cycloone II FPGA, for example.
