Please read the TS documentation. /dev/hda is the Compact Flash disk.
You would be better getting a CFdisk, and putting the debian on that.
Then you can boot.
You can even put a copy of the TSLinux filesystem onto the CF disk along
with your compiled new kernel for testing. If you had done this in the
first place, you would not have screwed up your on-board flash setup.
Even students should do some thinking before messing around :-)
