Hi,

It looks like the TS-7800 would be interesting as a tool for
experimenting with FPGAs from Linux, but I am interested in getting
some feedback. I have ordered one, but since they are out of stock for
a while I have time to cancel my order.

It seems that the supplied bitstream for the FPGA is needed for
booting purposes (since Flash access goes via the FPGA), but if one
were to set the unit up so that it initially boots from Flash but then
mounts root from a SATA connected drive, one could reprogram the FPGA
to do what ever one wants. Does this seem possible?

Alternatively, if the 5182 could be convinced to boot directly from
disk, the same might be true.

Alternatively, does TS provide the verilog files for the functionality
in the FPGA so I can cut out the stuff I don't want and put in my
stuff. All I need is a PCI interface with bus-master capabilities :-)

I currently work with 5181/5281s under VxWorks and the 5182 under
Linux on another board, and this board looks quite neat.
