We know gimmicks won't impress our core engineer customers like you. I
can't tell you enough how nice it is to work for a company that has
such a rational, objective and intelligent customer base. We rest easy
knowing that if we have the best product we get design wins and we
don't really need fancy marketing. Heck, if I had my way, we wouldn't
even have a website, we'd just have an FTP site with a whole bunch of
text files.
Those animated GIF images are an inside joke. No offense to Ronald
(who sits next to me), but I think they're hilarious which is why we've
kept them. That TS racecar gif is a riot, don't you agree?
As long as content was improved and made more maintainable,
nobody at TS had a taste one way or another for aesthetics or gimicks.
As I said before, we know they won't matter for engineers and its not
like some crazy marketing department is starting to take over the
company. We do work with people other than engineers sometimes though
too -- and this kind of flashy website sometimes impresses them. Not
sure why, but those people are more interested in knowing that this
company despite being small, is not a garage shop and is stable enough
to not need to pinch pennies and keep their website design from the
1990's.
