Thanks Peter,

what you're doing sounds similar to what i need, basically all i want to do is
do a gracefull
shutdown when power loss is detected for more than NN seconds.

I guess my mistake was using shutdown -P 0 during testing, it never powers off
after shutdown, and
the only way i could find to remove power or reset was jumper J3 after that!.
Which is quite
annoying since i have my tsbat3 under the tscan1 on the ts7300.

its for an automotive application, so i need it to power up and boot when the
line power is applied,
easy enough,
ignore any power losses that are shorter than say 30 seconds ( worst possible
case for cold
cranking/starting )
then power down gracefully when the line power goes away again.

i guess it should also power down gracefully during startup, say if its taking
a long time during a
fdsk check or such.

it might also be nice to be able to implement a constant 12V with a second 12V
that acts as the
detection for power on/off, but thats just a nicety that would match the way a
car normally works.

thanks for any help!
