Hi Peter -

Is this a wireless interface you are trying to bring up? I see other
posts you refer to a wifi box, and wireless stuff is running above.

What does /sbin/ifconfig say?

Do you have backup ifcfg-eth0 files? I found out the hard way that
they are parsed _after_ the one you modified. (ie, ifcfg-eth0 is
parsed, then ifcfg-eth0.bak is parsed, undoing your changes) I seem
to have more hard-to-find config problems with debian, but then I'm
used to Fedora.

(You've shown dhcp not working, but not really given the details that
will help people help you troubleshoot).

Last resort I guess would be logging the exchange between dhcp client
& server, using wireshark.

regards, ....... Charlie
