[ts-7000] Still having problems with dhcp on TS7400

I asked this a few months ago, and never really got a response. I'm
having a heck of a time getting dhcp running on a ts7400. I'm running
from the SD card, and pump seems to be failing with:

DHCPDISCOVER on eth0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 4
send_packet: Message too long

I've tried using pump, dhcpcd, dhcp3-client, all fail the same way,
like it is a driver problem.

Does anyone have dhcp running on a ts board running debian?
