Subject: [ts-7000] 2.6 Kernel and NFS Mounted Debian unresponsive at login

I've been trying to get the tskernel-2.6.21-ts to run on a TS-7260.
For now, I'm using the deb-sarge-udev-11-15-2007 root file system NFS
mounted on an Ubuntu host. For testing, I made a ts-11 2.4 kernel
zImage, and used the linux to linux bootload utility to successfully
boot the NFS mounted Debian root file system. Now I'm reasonably
confident the NFS is set up right, and the Debian file system is
functional, but I can't quite get to an interactive prompt with the
2.6 kernel. Starting from OEM 2.4 kernel/TSlinux, I use the command line-

bootload -c "console=ttyAM0,115200 root=/dev/nfs
nfsroot=192.168.0.128:/home/mike/SWARM/kernel26/tmp/mnt
ip=192.168.0.69:192.168.0.1:192.168.0.1:255.255.255.0 init=/sbin/init"
zImage26

the kernel seems to start up fine, init throws some errors mostly
related to the MTD (see below), and it peters out with what looks
tauntingly like a login prompt. Unfortunately, the console is
unresponsive at this point. It will respond to ping, and the web
server works, but telnetd returns an error.

I've seen some other references on this list to udev and /dev/pts
issues; is this where I should be looking? I've included the final
portion of the boot sequence below, any idea where to start?

thanks,
-Mike
