It's not that it disables it. It's that it flat out doesn't implement
it. The FPGA loadout that TS provides for this board is NOT a build
of the open core they have released. Rather the open core is meant as
a framework for you to make your own FPGA loadout. I have had some
success doing primitive video operations from my own loadout, but
nothing on par with the full framebuffer driver compliant
implementation that TS has provided.
There are some open source vga cores though. I have not tried any of
them because my desire was to implement everything myself anyway.
