Hi Igor,
Sorry for the late answer, during the past three weeks I could not read my emails because of the Military Service (here in Switzerland where I live, every year men MUST leave the family and the office, and "play" the war for three weeks. It's a long and for many people hard to understand topic http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_Service#Switzerland ).  Now I'm finally back, and I can read my emails again

In the meantime, were you able to fix your problem booting the new kernel? Or do you still need help?
Let me know if I can help you

Bye
Andrea

Hi Andrea,

I got to the point where you were awhile ago. I wonder if you
got any reply on:
Re: How to compile alsa on TS-7400 [solved] But how to use it?
Or may be you finally figured out how to properly use bootload?

I build vmlinux on TS-7400 using Debian on SD from TS (kernel
sources are located on other linux box); then I am trying to
start this image from inside the Debian using:

insmod -f bootloader.o
./bootload -c "console=ttyAM0, 115200 root=/dev/ram0" vmlinux.bin

New image runs, I see output on the console, but
it fails saying:

yaffs: dev is 256 name is "01:00"
yaffs: Attempting MTD mount on 1.0, "01:00"
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 01:00

I thought you may know correct syntax for bootload...

Thanks,
Igor

kernel. More specifically, ep93xx-i2s.c contains the code for the
I2S controller + code for some CS codecs (CS4271 and CS4228A). The
driver itself is not very well written (the codec code should not be
mixed with the pcm code), but Cirrus wrote the driver like that...
