Hi,
have you tried Pedro's explanation? This should work...

http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/ts-7000/message/5336

I noticed that more current ALSA versions (for example 1.0.14 need more work to be compiled for the TS 2.4 kernel). If the 1.0.4 version is enough for you, you could just follow Perdo's mini tutorial.

Otherwise, if you need a newer ALSA driver, crosscompiling the driver could be trickier. Anyway, in some cases you could try to use an old driver (for example the 1.0.4 found on cirrus' site) with a newer ALSA lib (I think lib and drivers must not necessarily have the same revision). What do you need exactly?

Bye
Andrea

Subject: [ts-7000] Anyone successfully compile ALSA libraries - I'm getting errors?

I've tried Martino's method using the Cirrus alsa-1.0.4 driver as well
as the current alsa-1.0.14rc4 driver ... and am having absolutely no luck.

I'm using the same ./configure command in both cases:

./configure --with-cards= usb-audio --with-sequencer= no
--with-kernel= /home/topper/ ts-arm-kernel/ linux24/
--with-cross= /opt/crosstool/ arm-unknown- linux-gnu/ gcc-3.3.4- glibc-2.3. 2/bin/arm- unknown-linux- gnu-

I've already used this crosstools to recompile the kernel, and that
works fine. Also, simple test code compiles fine. I'm including the
output from my compile for both the 1.0.4 and 1.0.14rc4 drivers.

I can't seem to compile directly on the board either, as the Debian
distro (Sarge) doesn't ship with the "patch" app?

----- snip -----

Here's the output from my attempt, as per Martino's instructions with
the alsa-1.0.4 libraries downloaded from Cirrus:
