You can simply write an ELF executable that can be loaded by redboot
instead of booting linux. I have done that (currently porting Minix 3 to
the ARM). I can send you some example code. However, as in DOS, you have
to do everything yourself. Or actually even worse - no disk I/O API's,
no BIOS API's, everything is up to you.
