Thanks for the reassurance. One of the reasons for my hesitation was that I had
not been able to create an SD card image that I could get running. I am
experimenting with a 4 GB SDHC card and could not simply, out of inexperience,
get it to work. Finally I have been able to get an image that seems to be
holding. I downloaded http://vaiprime.visibleassets.com/~davec/ts7xx0.tar.bz2
(I cannot remember how I found it :-) and after a could of missteps it works.
I did a little modification of loadUSB.sh to create a loadSD.sh that does the
chroot to the sarge linux in the SD card. I had some servers not starting
properly but an apt-get update/apt-get upgrade sequence seemed to have taken
care of the problem. SSH is still not working nor does it sees the USB drives
but I would like to tackle the on-board flash re-imaging first.
BTW, since I move the TS-7260 with me from home to work and back, I cannot rely
on a specific Linux box to provide a tftp server. I found uCon at
http://www.microcross.com/html/micromonitor.html that I use now as my console
and tftp server on my XP laptop.
Thanks again,
