Eddie,

I spoke with you on the phone about problems creating a SD card to boot a ts-7400 board.  you asked me to send you the information from what I did.  I used fdisk and created three partitions on a debian pc.  I then create a linux file system from the debian pc.  I can mount that file system to the debian pc.  but I can not mount it to the 7400 board.  I am sending you logs for both the debian pc and the 7400 board.

Our current shipping software on the TS-7400/TS-9441 does have this
functionality in the linuxrc-mtdroot script. Once you follow the
instructions I sent you off list you will see your linuxrc-mtdroot
script has this implemented. For anyone else that would like to update
the software on the TS-9441 below are some instructions. You can find
the tarball with the required software here
ftp://oz.embeddedarm.com/update_9441.tar.gz

1.) Place the Boot jumper on the TS-9441.

e.g.
>> TS-SPIFLASHBOOT - built Oct 3 2006
>> Copyright (c) 2006, Technologic Systems
.
.
.
Finished booting in 3.14 seconds
Type 'tshelp' for help
$ save
Saving ramdisk to flash, please do not remove power until
finished.
$ reboot

2.) Remove the Boot jumper and place the jumper Write En on the TS-9441.
Press the reset button, then type exit at the prompt, and login as root.

e.g.
>> TS-SPIFLASHBOOT - built Oct 3 2006
>> Copyright (c) 2006, Technologic Systems
.
.
.
Finished booting in 3.13 seconds
Type 'tshelp' for help
$ exit

/linuxrc: 39: [: not found

Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

$

3.) Upload the attached tarball via FTP. The md5sum is below.

$ md5sum update_9441.tar.gz
d47fbd47c4482995e552b2c6030808f7 update_9441.tar.gz

4.) Untar the tarball and run ts9441_update.

e.g.
$ tar xzvf update_9441.tar.gz
update_9441
update_9441/tsbootrom-update
update_9441/poke32
update_9441/ts9441-default
update_9441/serflashwr
update_9441/ts9441_update
$ cd update_9441/
$ ./ts9441_update
Writing TS-9441 EEPROM...done
Writing TS-9441 SPI flash...done
$

At this point your TS-9441 should be up to date, you can now boot to
your TS-9441 and type save and your TS-7400 should now be up to date
also.
